Menu Plan Monday meals under $10!
It’s Menu Plan Monday, where I show you what we’re eating for less than $10 for a family of 5.
Monday: Meatloaf muffins, mashed potatoes (FREE at Kroger this week), and steamed broccoli. Ground beef is so expensive. I’m really thinking about asking the butcher to take one of the roasts they have on sale and grinding it for me. How’s that for fresh ground?
Tuesday: Oven baked pork chops, rice and gravy, and corn. I bought pork loins from Randalls and Kroger when they were less than $2/lb. I cut them into chops and froze them in meal size portions.
Wednesday: We’re having chicken stuffed with prosciutto and fontina, served with a green salad and orzo. I’m afraid I have a Trader Joe’s problem. Every time I’m in there, I want to try something new! The prosciutto and fontina weren’t terribly expensive. I’m probably going to use about $5 worth, plus chicken @ $1.39/lb, orzo @ $.99/lb and lettuce is $.69. Easily under budget for a gourmet meal!
Thursday: Leftover buffet! If there’s no leftovers, it’s a fend for yourself.
Friday: Breakfast for dinner.
Saturday: We’re supposed to get a cold front here in Houston, so it will be a pot roast, chili, or another cold weather food. Hey, the air conditioning is on right now. I have to have something to look forward to.
Sunday: Grilling day if it is nice enough, or crock pot meal if it’s not.
