Invisalign Straight Talk
I have two teenagers now. It’s a scary time. So much to keep up with. So much to worry about.
So glad I attended Invisalign StraightTalk, which focused on Invisalign for teens…
To be honest, braces never crossed my mind. My kids’ teeth look fine. My kids get regular dental check ups but braces were never mentioned for either of the big kids. Until I attended the Invisalign Straight Talk conference with Dr. Halford of Halford Orthodontics and the lovely girls at Bloggy Boot Camp, I never knew kids were supposed to have an orthodontic consult, even if their teeth looked okay.
There are so many things to consider about such a big investment like Invisalign or braces in general, but the good news is that many insurance carriers are now covering Invisalign just like metal braces! Plus, if your kid loses one of their trays, you can get a free replacement. How cool is that? Technology is expanding the field of orthodontics, and now braces are available to preteens and teenagers at younger ages.
I never had braces as a child/teen. Dr. Halford’s friendly approach was almost enough to get me to sign up. And I’m pretty scared of the dentist. Not even gonna lie. If you’re looking for a new orthodontist, or one in general, you can use Invisalign’s Doctor Locator. If your regular dentist says your kid isn’t a candidate, consider a second opinion.
To be honest, there were so many things discussed, I don’t think I could fit them all into one post. The technology of Invisalign, with its 3-D imagers, the convenience of the Invisalign trays, the cost vs traditional braces… Plus, the time! They were talking about cutting the office visits in half with Invisalign vs traditional metal braces.
I could go on for a while. We learned so much in one night.
However, I want to leave something for you to tell me. Have you ever considered Invisalign, either for yourself or your kids? What was your experience? Were you a metal mouth instead?
