Menu Plan Monday – $10 Dinners or less!
Oh, it’s gonna be a long week. I have what I affectionately term “the crud”, Halloween is Wednesday, there’s a movie premiere on Thursday (WRECK-IT RALPH!!!), and my oldest has a football game on Friday. So. It’s going to be a week of using my slow cooker, eating out of the pantry, and probably one or more nights of “Fix it yourself cause I’m too busy blowing my nose!”
What’s on the menu at your house?
If you’re looking for more inspiration, check out my friend Kathy at Pinner Takes All. She has got a fabulous menu worked up and she makes some adorable things! I wish I had the creativity of her little pinky finger, but alas, I am not gifted with a glue gun!
Monday: Baked chicken, rice, broccoli. Chicken was $1.39/lb a few weeks back at Sellers Bros and we’re still working on that. Rice is always cheap, and I buy broccoli florets at HEB where they’re about $.08/ounce. Cost is about $8.
Tuesday: Spaghetti, garlic bread, and salad. Pasta and spaghetti are coming out of the pantry – I have a lot stocked up. Fresh French bread is $1.50 at Fiesta, and lettuce is $.99 at my Food Town. Cost is about $5 when you add the cost of hamburger meat.
Wednesday:Pulled pork in the slow cooker, served on hamburger buns or Hawaiian Rolls, with potato chips or french fries. Cost is about $7. Pork loins are hovering around $1.69-$1.99/lb, so I’m stocking up.
Thursday: Planned leftover night.
Friday: Since I’m well under my budget of $10/dinner, we’re going to call it a pizza night. We’ll order from whoever has the best deal/shortest delivery time. 🙂
Saturday: Fend for yourself.
Sunday: I’m thinking pot roast, but I might do stroganoff, or french dip sandwiches. Just depends on how I feel when I get up on Sunday!
