Only 1 insert this week, but if you buy diapers, it might be worth it.
I’m hearing through a couple of sources that we’re only getting a Proctor & Gamble next week, too, so you might want to save your money for the week of December 3 unless something just jumps out at you!

We’re coming into the home stretch before Thanksgiving. I picked up a 7 lb turkey breast today from Target, and am starting to build my real menu. This week and next are going to be frugal meals so that I can go all out Thursday (eating at my mother’s house) and Saturday, when I’ll be cooking at my house. As you do your shopping this week, keep your eyes peeled for some of the great tearpads and coupon books on display.
Monday:Chicken enchilada casserole. If I find a recipe I like, I’ll link it here. Otherwise, I’ll be doing it on the fly. I’ll use about a pound of chicken breasts, 2 dozen tortillas, green chile sauce, 2 cans of corn and lots of cheese. I might add some black beans for extra protein, as well. Cost – $1 for tortillas, $1 for green chile sauce, $1 for corn, $1.50 for chicken, and $1.50 for a bag of cheese. Total – $6
Tuesday:Spaghetti and meatballs. Has been on my plan for a couple weeks but hasn’t been made. I need the room in the freezer, so here we go. Cost – $1.75 for a pound of ground beef, sauce is free, pasta is $2, bread is $.50 and salad is about $1, plus we’ll say $.75 for incidentals and pantry stuff. Total – $6
Wednesday:Beef and broccoli. Not a cheap meal, but much requested by my husband. 🙂 Cost is about $12.
Thursday:I have a Houston Bloggers meeting, so the kids are on their own.
Friday:Crockpot pulled pork – cost is about $5.
Saturday:Fend for yourself. I have a coupon class in the AM.
Sunday:Forecast says it’s going to be hot. I’m crossing my fingers that we get another cool front. 🙂

Looks like 3 inserts! 1 Smart Source and 1 Red Plum and 1 General Mills Insert.
I haven’t picked up my early edition, but someone was nice enough to give me 1 copy of our local free paper. Out of the 75 or so she had stacked up. Moving right along.
In it, there was a $.55/1 Imperial Sugar coupon that should come in handy, a $1/4 Libby’s veggie coupon that looked nice, and a couple of higher than usual Pillsbury coupons.
It seems to be a good weekend for papers. If the Chronicle also has some goodies, I’ll be buying 6 papers, for the first time in close to a month.

Tuesday:Beans with sausage, rice, and cornbread.
Wednesday:Gravy steaks, mashed potatoes, corn.
Thursday:Baked chicken with white sauce, rice and broccoli with cheese.

Saturday:Sandwiches/Fend for yourself
Sunday:Lasagna, garlic bread, and salad. I didn’t make it last weekend because it turned from cold to hot. Welcome to Texas.

Monday:Gotta have something to soak up all that sugar! Crockpot Potato Soup – Potatoes are $1.79 at Food Town, I have sour cream bought on markdown, and I have some shredded cheese in the freezer. Since I’m winging this, I’ll have to update with the actual price breakdown. No more than $5, I don’t think.
Tuesday:Chicken Spaghetti – Cost: $4 for chicken, $1 for pasta bought on sale, $1 for homemade white sauce and $.15 for rotel. $6.35 total.
Wednesday:Beef and Broccoli – Cost on this one is a little high, but it averages out with everything else this week. Beef will be about $8, broccoli is about $1, rice is about $.25, so $9.25.
Thursday:Taco Casserole – Cost: $1 for tortillas, $4 for ground beef, $.40 for beans, $1 for cheese, and $.35 for corn. $6.70 total.
Friday:Leftovers or pizza – Cost is usually under $5.
Saturday:Fend for yourself – Freezer buffet or sandwiches.
Sunday:Lasagna – Lasagna is an all day affair in my house. I usually make a huge pot of sauce, and make lasagna till I run out of pans. And I have a lot of pans. Cost per pan is $1.50 for sauce, $2.50 for cheese, and $1 for lasagna noodles, so $5 per pan. Can’t buy frozen junk for that!
