Aldi’s Best Deals
Looking for Aldi’s Best Deals? Your prices may be a little higher or lower – Aldi has a couple ads in the Houston area alone.
Guide to shopping at Aldi:
1. No coupons. I know. Stay with me.
2. No bags. It’s warehouse style – bring your own bags, or be prepared to buy theirs.
3. You have to insert a quarter into the cart to use it. You get it back when you return it to the corral.
4. Expect bargain basement prices on produce, dairy, and some canned goods. Meat is iffy, as are interior items.
5. There is a Double Your Money Back Guarantee. If you don’t like something, bring it back and get a replacement AND your money back.

Kristin, I love Aldi’s – US HQ is in Batavia, IL. You need to understand about Aldi’s. They are a German company & offer things seasonal, as well in various cycles offer special items. For instance, right now they have Pumpkin cider (try it, it’s fantastic – I make popsicles with it), & other pumpkin related items (breads etc.), but only during pumpkin season – Oct. to maybe beginning Dec. I love their Braunsweiger chub, it’s $1.99 & bigger v.s. Kroger’s Oscar Meyer smaller chub for $2.98, but they don’t have it all the time – just in cycles. Recently they had a small wheel of Triple cream Brie, that was fantastic, once gone, haven’t seen it since – boo hoo. Christmas time they have a mulled wine that is so good, there is someone who comes in as soon as it is available & buys the whole stock, leaving none for the rest of us. As far as their meats go, I was surprised by your comment. I have found their meats extremely good quality, just very limited selection. You need to keep an eye on their sales of Hams & Turkeys, they will be in the $0.99/lb or less, before the other stores like Kroger etc. Their selection of imported things are affordable & for the most part very interesting, but seasonal & in cycles. Their staple items are competitively priced. The produce for the most part is competitively priced, just very limited selection. The can goods I am picky about what I buy. Like any store you have to find out their strengths & weakness, what’s good & what isn’t. I am still trying figure out the cycles when some things are offerred.
Have you noticed Rancho Grande? Today I picked up 3/lbs big ripe juicy tomatoes for $1.00, 5 smaller avocados for $1.00 – large enough for 2 sandwiches, 7 smaller red delicious apples for $1.00 & 2/lbs yellow onions for $1.00. Their papaya are usually $0.87/lb, cheaper than anywhere else & they are huge & very ripe. However, a lot of the other other grocery store items are way over priced. You have to see the grocery sale paper that comes out on Tues/Wed for the good deals.
I will add your site to my list of sources. I am trying to get into the extreme couponing thing too. Thank you for your info.
