Making Ibotta Work for You
Have you started using Ibotta yet? Well, it’s a great app that gives you REAL money for buying selected products at selected stores. Occasionally, there will be offers for “any brand” items like pizza, bread, milk, coffee or eggs. You can also earn bonuses, including my favorite the Teamwork bonus. The Teamwork bonus varies from month to month, but this month, the first level is worth $5 when you redeem $10 in offers. That means for every dollar you redeem, it’s like getting an additional $.50!
Let’s talk about the questions I receive the most often.
1. I don’t USE those items.
Well, I don’t suggest anyone goes out spending money just to do it, but check back often. Most people will use a lot of the “any brand” offers.
2. Are you sure it’s a good deal?
It depends. Is it something you were going to buy anyway? Can you get it at a lower price anywhere else? Do you have a coupon to match up with it? Is there an offer on another cashback app?
The answers to those questions will determine if something is a good deal to you. Tonight, for example, I purchased a number of items that weren’t necessarily a good deal with the shelf price, but once you factored in the Ibotta rewards and teamwork bonus, they were great deals.
- I bought a 16 oz container of sour cream. The usual price at Randalls is $1.25 for 16 oz of store brand. The price at Randalls was $1.79 for Daisy sour cream, and a $.50 Ibotta offer. Combine the Teamwork bonus (which gives you an extra $.25 on this item) and you’ve got a really great deal. You’re spending a little bit more out of pocket, but your final price is going to be much lower.
- I also bought 3 packages of Starkist Tuna. They were on sale for $1 ($5 Friday), I had a $1/3 coupon, and there was a $.75/2 Ibotta offer. Final price with Ibotta offer and Teamwork bonus was $.87/3 or .29 each.
3. Why would you buy something that you don’t use?
I am always open to getting paid. That’s why you buy things you don’t necessarily use. This week, there is an offer for So Delicious products. It’s $1 on anything. The Teamwork bonus makes it $1.50. PLUS there is a $1/1 coupon at coupons.com. The cheapest thing I could find is the individual yogurt for $1.49. Use the coupon and your out of pocket is $.49. After rebates, you got paid $1.01 to buy something and try it. I am okay with that.
Altogether, I’ve earned almost $400 with Ibotta. I hope that these tips will help you too!
