As usual, this is just a plan, not set in stone. Lunches are usually sandwiches, frozen burritos, or a box bowl of cereal.
Monday: Leftovers from grilling on Sunday or salads.
Tuesday: Spaghetti with meatballs, fresh bread and salad. Cost – $7.50 (pasta – $1.50, sauce – free with coupons, meatballs – $1.50, bread – $2, salad – $1.50, + $1 for extra goodies (cheese, etc))
Wednesday: Chicken and Broccoli and Rice Casserole using leftover grilled chicken and a white sauce. We’re going to try to move towards more real food, so that doesn’t include cream of – soups. I’ll use up what we have or give it away. Cost – $10 (rice – $1, broccoli – $1.50, chicken – $2, cheese – $3, plus $ 2.50 for bread crumbs, butter, mushrooms, etc.)
Thursday: If it stays as cool as the forecast says, we’ll have meatloaf. If not, probably hamburgers.
Friday: Fend for yourself or hot sandwiches.
Saturday: Another easy day.
Sunday: Grilling day.

You can click on my tags to see how our previous meals have worked out. I’m feeding 3 adults, one teenage boy, one tween (girl), and a toddler boy. None of our portions are tiny, and my goal is to spend no more than $10 per meal.

We’re starting to go the real food route as well…If something calls for cream of — soup I try and make it from scratch. The DH hates green bean casserole with a passion but I made it from scratch for Christmas and he devoured it…Although we are starting to use less coupons, we’re lucky to have a million and a half stores here to compare prices and make meal plans that way
