Sprouts Farmers Market – Katy
Last week, I had the opportunity to take a sneak peek at the Sprouts Farmers Market in Katy. Which means this post is late, but better than never, right? 😉 You’d rather know about the deals at this fantastic store than all of the wonderful things that go into making it one of the hottest stores in Houston.
Right?
Okay, maybe not.
So, here’s the skinny. Sprouts Farmers Market started out as a side project by the Henry Boney family (owner’s of Henry’s). In 2011, it merged with Sun Harvest and Henry’s Farmers Market. The chain has over 100 stores. But the most important part? They’re expanding rapidly. Jim Nielsen, their COO, told us that they’re planning on having 20 stores in the greater Houston area, with 4 coming this year! I cannot wait.
Sprouts has four destination areas: Vitamins, fresh produce, bulk, and their deli section. This is where you’re going to find the absolute best deals. As you can see from my match-ups, they’re entering the Houston market with a bang. I saw organic produce for better prices than conventional. Bulk cut cheese for $4/lb LESS than Whole Foods, and $2/lb less than Trader Joe’s. While their store is not completely natural and you will still find some foods that have dyes in them, it’s a fantastic stepping stone to better health.
Ways to Save Money at Sprouts Farmers Market:
1. Bring your own bags for a $.05 credit.
2. Every day, super low prices.
3. Wednesdays are double ad days. Lower price is taken at the register.
4. Sprouts accepts printable and insert coupons.
I seriously do not have the words to tell you how impressed I was with this store. It is a fantastic addition to our Houston Grocery Scene, and a store I’m happy to cover.
